The Storm head to Sault Ste. Marie for the first time this season to take on the Soo Greyhounds. The puck drops at 7:07pm.
The Storm come off another huge win against the Kitchener Rangers Tuesday night which saw them win 4-0. With a big performance from Owen Bennet who was able to get the team's first shutout and his first OHL shutout, the team was able to secure its 6th win of the season. With that win the team has the record of 6-4-1-0 and sits in 3rd place in conference standings, sitting only behind the London Knights and Soo Greyhounds. Tonight, is the first game of two that the Storm will play in the Soo this weekend, and the first of the back-to-back. Going into tonight's clash, Sasha Pastujov leads the team in all 3 major point categories, with 10 goals, 9 assists, and 19 points. The team is currently on a 3-game win streak and will be looking to try and continue that success tonight.
The Soo Greyhounds currently lead the conference and the league with 16 points. This is with the current record of 8-4-0-0. The NHL draft eligible prospect is coming off a big 2 goal night against the Rangers early in the week and is finding his scoring touch. Zhilkin has a total of 10 points in 11 games, and 4 goals in those 10 games this season. From the two games played between the two teams this season, Zhilkin has been able to find the net once. He'll be looking to get more goals tonight as the Storm visit the Greyhounds.
