Soo Greyhounds News Release
Although we are grateful every day, November 11th is a special day set aside for us to honour, remember, and pay tribute to the members of the Canadian armed forces who have died in the line of duty. It is also a day for us to thank and pay respect to those who continue to serve for our country and protect our freedom.
As we prepare to honour our many heroes on November 11th, the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is pleased to host their annual Remembrance Day game on Saturday, November 6th (7:07 PM) when they host the Guelph Storm.
As part of the festivities, the Greyhounds will once again be wearing limited edition commemorative jerseys for this event. These jerseys will be auctioned off (via blind auction) to raise funds for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 and the Algoma Veterans Association.
Online bidding has commenced now and will end on Thursday, November 11th @ 11 AM.
In person bidding will also be available during the games on Friday, November 5th and Saturday, November 6th.
Minimum bid is $100 and all bids must be in increments of $25.
**Only those with a successful bid will have their payment processed, and subsequently contacted to arrange pick-up or delivery.
We thank all our fans and community in advance for their support of this fundraiser.

ABOUT THE LEGION BRANCH 25
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to serve veterans and their dependents, promote remembrance and act in the service of Canada and its communities.
Your Royal Canadian Legion is committed to making a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families, providing essential services in our communities, and remembering the men and women who sacrificed for our country.
AT THE SERVICE OF ALL VETERANS
We are Canada's largest Veteran support and community service organization, helping Veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP and their families get the care and support they deserve.
ABOUT THE ALGOMA VETERANS ASSOCIATION
The Algoma Veterans Association (AVA) is a Not-For-Profit organization which was founded for soldiers and veterans of the Algoma region to help them gain skills that can be transferred to the civilian workforce as well as help develop confidence, independence, and social skills, which will allow them to support their communities. The AVA will help veterans find meaning and purpose as well as helping to minimize the effects of PTSD.
The board of directors is comprised primarily of veterans. Every member except two, a veteran's spouse, and Greg Lefave, are veterans. This will ensure that all funds raised go directly towards the area's veterans need the most. The board is all volunteer based, again, ensuring all donations go towards helping those in need. Greg's sole purpose on the board is to provide political/administrative support as well as prospecting for donations from the local business community (which he is a part of).
The end goal is to reduce the everyday stresses of dealing with PTSD as well as completely eliminating the instances of suicide.
