Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release
Hey B-Mets' Fans,
The Double-A Yankees (Trenton Thunder) make their way into town for the first time this season for a three game series. The New York Yankees affiliate has the EL's best record at 64-42 and are in first place in the Northern division, but they've lost eight of 11. Recently, the Binghamton Mets have not performed so well on the field. The B-Mets were swept at NYSEG Stadium for the first time since May of 2006. They look to turn things around in the first game against the Double-A Yankees tonight at 7:05 PM. The game will feature a Toyota Fireworks show and Two for Tuesday.

Trade News: The New York Mets have filled its need for a consistent second baseman by acquiring Luis Castillo yesterday. The parent Mets traded prospects, Drew Butera and Dustin Martin, for the 3 time All-Star. Butera in 30 games with Binghamton had an .188 AVG in 117 AB he also played 52 games earlier in the year with the St. Lucie Mets. Butera will report to the Minnesota affiliate New Britain Rock Cats of our very own Eastern League. Martin has been sent to the Minnesota Class-A affiliate in Fort Myers.
