RHP Shane Greene (1-0, 2.84) vs. RHP Jared Jones (2-3, 5.91)

TODAY'S GAME: Iowa and Indianapolis will play the sixth and final game of the series today, with a rematch from game one set to take place. The I-Cubs will send Shane Greene to the mound, looking for his second win of the season and series. In the first game against the Indians, Greene spun 5.0 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out six. On the season, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA in four starts, allowing four earned runs on nine hits and seven walks while striking out 14 over 12.2 innings. Opposite of Greene will be Jared Jones taking the ball for Indianapolis, set to pitch in his 12th game of the year, making his 11th start. Jones comes into today's game with a 2-3 record and a 5.91 ERA, allowing 35 earned runs on 55 hits and 24 walks compared to 68 strikeouts in 53. 1 innings pitched. In game one of the series on Tuesday, Iowa got to Jones, as the right-hander allowed six earned runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out five in his 5.0 innings of work.

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN: Bailey Horn earned his seventh win of the season last night. The reliever tossed 1.0 inning and allowed one run on two hits while striking out one. His seventh win matches Caleb Kilian's team high this season. It's been a long time coming for Horn to finally get win number seven, as the lefty recorded three wins in each May and June. He did not earn a win in the month of July and last night's was his first in August. Horn's last win came on June 18, he made 16 appearances since that day. Horn has been on Iowa's active roster for all but eight days this season, when he was on the development list from August 17 to August 25. Horn's seven wins are a career mark for him, as his previous career high win total was three in the 2021 season. Horn holds the most wins for any I-Cub reliever this season, the next closest is Cam Sanders who has six.

DOWN TO THE WIRE: Iowa's last three games have all been decided by one run or less. They fell 10-9 on Thursday night, lost 2-1 on Friday and won 4-3 last night. On the season, the I-Cubs are 22-9 in one run games. Five of those losses have come in their last nine games. Before their win last night, Iowa had lost six one-run games in a row dating back to August 3. The I-Cubs scratched out a win with a two-run seventh inning last night. They improved to 54-5 when leaded after seven and 52-2 when leading after eight innings. Late losses have been a problem for Iowa recently, as they have lost in the eighth inning or later three times this series and three times last series.

BACK ON TRACK: Alexander Canario snapped a 12-game hitting streak on Friday night as he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He did not fall into a slump however, getting right back into the swing of things last night. Canario recorded two hits including a double and scored a run. It was his 11th multi-hit game of the season and fourth this series alone. On the week, the outfielder is 11-for-21 (.524) with five runs, four doubles, four home runs and eight RBI. In the last five games alone, Canario has raised his average by 43 points bringing him to a .293 clip on the year. He now ranks fourth in batting average among Iowa's active roster. Canario leads the team with his .556 slugging percentage. While he is not a qualified player, he would rank sixth in the International League in slugging if he were.

HITTING IN MULTIPLES: Three I-Cubs recorded multi-hit games last night. Pete Crow-Armstrong, Alexander Canario and Luis Vazquez each had two hits. For Crow-Armstrong it was his seventh multi-hit game on the year, the 11th for Canario and 12th for Vázquez. The entire I-Cubs roster has been no strangers to multi-hit games this year. With the three last night, Iowa has seen 284 multi-hit performances this season. Yonathan Perlaza paces the team with 29 on the year with Jake Slaughter just behind at 23. Through five games this series, the I-Cubs have had 15 multi-hit performances.

AGAINST INDIANAPOLIS: Iowa got back into the series with their win last night and will go for the series split with a win today. Despite trailing the current series 3-2, Iowa is winning the season series now 14-9 headed into the final game of the year between the two teams. They have a chance to split their 12 games here at Victory Field with a win today, entering the contest having gone 5-6 in road games against the Indians this season. Iowa is 52-67 all-time overall against Indianapolis, going 24-48 all-time on the road.

SHORT HOPS: Matt Mervis continues to gain ground in Iowa's home run race this season, as he hit his 18th of the year last night, he trails only Yonathan Perlaza (19) and Jake Slaughter (21)...Michael Rucker recorded his first save of the season last night, it's his first since September 19, 2021 and only the sixth in his professional career...Nick Neidert recorded his 11th no decision of the season last night, he has not recorded a win or loss since August 3...Iowa is 8-12 on Sundays going 4-6 on the road, it is the only day of the week where they have a losing record.
