Another Two Homer Night for Hermosillo

Michael Hermosillo belts two home runs and drives in five, but it wasn't enough, as the Omaha Storm Chasers knocked off the Salt Lake Bees 8-6 on Thursday. After Omaha jumped in front with five runs in the first and one more in the second, Hermosillo got Salt Lake on the board with a three run homer in the in the third inning and his two run shot in the eighth pulled the Bees to within three at 8-5.

He now has four home runs and nine runs batted in for the first two games of the series. The Bees would add an unearned run after the second Hermosillo homer in the eighth and would have the tying runs on base, but Nick Franklin fouled out and Salt Lake would go three up, three down in the ninth to close out the game.

Starter Alex Klonowski (1-7) was charged with the loss, as he went five and two-third innings and allowed eight runs, one unearned, on nine hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Adam McCreery would come out of the bullpen and toss two and one-third scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Jose Rojas would add two hits, including his league leading 37th double, while Anthony Bemboom would extend his hitting streak to ten games with a sixth inning single.
