Amarillo Gorillas News Release

Amarillo, TX 12/31/09 - The Central Hockey League has named Amarillo Gorillas defenseman Andrew Smale to this season 2010 All-Star Game in Laredo, Texas.

"Andrew has been very consistent and versatile player for us this season," remarked Gorillas Head Coach Brian Pellerin. "This honor is well deserved."

Smale, playing in his first season as a member of the Gorillas, has collected five goals and thirteen assists over all 31 games. When called upon earlier this season to fill-in at the forward position, Smale thrived, scoring two multi-goal games (the first time in his four-year professional career to have two multi-goal games in one season).

This year's All-Star Game will be hosted by the Laredo Bucks and will be played Wednesday, January 13th at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The game will be available for fans on CHL-TV.

The Gorillas return to the Panhandle to host the Rapid City Rush for the first time this season this New Year's Eve (Thursday, December 31st) at 7pm. We're celebrating 2010 by offering $10 tickets to Thursday's game! Call 806.242.PUCK (7825) for tickets.
