Sundogs' Landry To Skate In 2010 CHL All-Star Game
December 31, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Jon Landry has been named a reserve for the CHL All-Star Team in the 2010 CHL All-Star Game on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas.
A team comprised of CHL All-Stars will battle a South Texas All-Star squad made up of players from the Laredo Bucks, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Corpus Christi IceRays.
Landry, 26, leads all Sundogs defensemen in scoring and ranks tied-for-sixth among CHL blue liners with 22 points (5g/17a) in 27 games. His 17 assists are good enough for fourth-best in the CHL among d-men.
The Montreal, Quebec, native leads the team in power-play points and assists (10) and his plus-4 rating is also tops amongst his teammates. After tallying just one goal in his first five games to start the season, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman has recorded 21 points in his last 22 contests.
Reserve players were selected by CHL All-Star Team Head Coach Kevin McClelland (Colorado Eagles) along with the CHL's Hockey Operations Department. All-Star Game starters were announced earlier in the week via voting by CHL Head Coaches, team Communication Departments and select media members from member cities.
