Sundogs Hook Former Fish, Sign Forward TJ Fox
Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs hooked a fish, signing former Cutthroats forward, TJ Fox for their upcoming 2014-15 Central Hockey League season. Fox is the fifth forward to sign with the Sundogs this summer.
Fox 30-years, comes to Arizona after spending last season playing for the Denver Cutthroats (CHL), where he collected eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 63 games. The 6-foot-1, 196-lb forward also helped the Cutthroats advance to the CHL finals, posting six assists in 16 post-season games.
"I am extremely grateful that Coach Colley has given me the opportunity to join the Sundogs organization", said Fox. "I'm looking forward to the start of the season, and to begin working alongside my teammates to bring the President's Cup back to the fans in Prescott Valley".
In 2007 he began his rookie campaign playing for the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League (AHL) where he played for two seasons and accrued 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points in 71 games during his rookie campaign. The following year he tallied 18 points in 79 games. In 2009 he signed with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) skating in 64 games amassing his career high with 26 goals and 34 assists for 60 points. Later that same season he was recalled by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) skating in four games.
For his 2010-11 season he jumped the pond to play for the Hannover Indians, a professional German team, putting up 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points in 47 games. In 2011 he signed with the Texas Brahmas (CHL) posting his second best career record with 18 goals and 37 assists for 55 points and in 2012 resigned with the Brahmas where he tallied 8 points in 17 games.
Prior to turning pro, Fox, a native of New York played two seasons for Union College and finished ninth among first year players in the ECAC during his freshman year. The following year Fox was named MVP of his team where he was ranked fifth overall in league scoring and lead his team with 37 points in 36 games.
