Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Central Hockey League today announced the remainder of the CHL All-Star team that will play a similar group of all-stars from South Texas in this year's classic.

The meeting of all-stars from Laredo, Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi against the rest of the CHL will take place at the Laredo Entertainment Center on Wednesday, January 13.

Among the CHL All-Stars named is Mississippi RiverKings' defenseman Derek Landmesser. It will be his seventh All-Star game appearance and first since earning an assist in the 2008 classic, hosted by the Rocky Mountain Rage.

The honor is another highlight in an already stellar career for the native of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Among Landmesser's career notes is his naming as the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman (2001), and a three-time end of season member of the All-CHL team (2004-2007),

Landmesser owns several RiverKings career records. Earlier this season, Derek reached 400 career assists, becoming the tenth CHL player to reach that career level.

His CHL career totals entering tonight's game at Tulsa includes 527 games played, 85 goals scored, 403 assists and 488 career points. Landmesser has 656 career points in 832 career professional games.

This season, Landmesser has scored five goals and has 19 points with 26 penalty minutes in 29 games.

Earlier this week, Landmesser was named a starter on the CHL All-Decade Team, one of two defensemen in the starting lineup.

Landmesser and the remainder of the RiverKings will return home tomorrow night to meet the Missouri Mavericks at the DeSoto Civic Center, beginning at 7:05 PM. For more ticket information, call the RiverKings offices at 662-342-1755 or go online to www.riverkings.com today!
