NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk's two-game homestand against Adirondack ended with a heartbreaking overtime loss with just 1:32 remaining. Greg Chase's 3-point night was not enough to secure back-to-back wins against the second-place division rival.

The game moved in a cat-and-mouse fashion with Norfolk and Adirondack trading goals until late in the third period. Adirondack forward, Peter MacArthur struck first at 5:24 of the first, earning his first of three points on the night. Snatching up a rebound from a Nicholas Kuqali shot, MacArthur sent a wrister past Norfolk netminder, Ty Rimmer for the 1-0 lead.

Nearly 20 minutes later, Noreau's right point blast would soar past Adirondack goalie, Drew Fielding. Under controversial circumstances, the goal was credited at the 5:11 mark. The score would remain tied until the third period when Thunder forwards Ryan Lomberg and MacArthur would continue to trade goals and assists. At 3:57 of the third, Lomberg redirected home a MacArthur pass while Norfolk was down two men.

Ten minutes later, Norfolk forward Nick MacNeil, with a strong net-front presence, would muscle in a rebound up close in the crease to tie things 2-2 on the man advantage.

Norfolk then gained some momentum and Braden Christoffer capitalized on an odd-man rush, scoring off a pass from Greg Chase who assisted on both prior Norfolk goals, taking the lead for the first time, 3-2, late in the third period.

With Fielding pulled for an extra attacker, the Norfolk lead was short-lived. With just 31 seconds left in the final frame, Ryan Lomberg would tally his second goal and third point of the night, tying the game and taking it to overtime.

After trading numerous back-and-forth 3-on-3 opportunities, Adirondack forward Mathieu Brodeur found an open lane through the slot and wristed one over Rimmer's shoulder for the overtime, 4-3 win.

After taking 3-of-4 possible points this weekend at home, the Admirals head out to Reading, PA where they will face off against the Royals on Sunday afternoon for a 4:00 p.m. faceoff.
