
Admirals Sign Hampton Roads Native Ryan Salkeld

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announce today that the ECHL club has signed Hampton Roads native, Ryan Salkeld, to a regular ECHL standard players contract.
Salkeld, 24, turns pro following a four-year career at Buffalo State College (NCAA III) where he appeared in 92 games and scored 34 goals and 39 assists. The Churchland High School graduate grew up in Portsmouth, VA and had an extensive career with the Hampton Roads Whalers. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound forward tallied 171 points (80-911) in 114 games with the Whalers.
In four seasons with Buffalo State College, Salkeld amassed 10 power-play goals, 10 game-winning goals, and 1 shorthanded goal, finishing his tenure as the school's 10th all-time leading scorer, leading them to the most wins in school history (15) his senior season. Named to the ALL-SUNYAC Second Team following the 2015-2016 season, he collected nine multi-point games during his senior year and notched five game-winning goals.
