Grizzlies Down Fuel 2-0

Indy Fuel News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Utah Grizzlies received a 34-save performance from goaltender Ryan Faragher and a penalty shot goal from Alex Krushelnyski en route to a 2-0 win over the Indy Fuel at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, early in the second Fuel captain Zach Miskovic collided with Grizzlies forward Brent Gwidt just outside the Indy blue line. The resulting collision left the puck sitting just to the side of the pile for Krushelnyski to swoop in on a breakaway chance. Ben Marshall tried to get back and make a play on the puck, but despite putting an attempt off the goal post behind Fuel goaltender Mac Carruth, Krushelnyski was awarded a penalty shot. The resulting goal at 3:10 would stand up as the game-winner.

Despite several quality scoring chances for the Fuel throughout the remainder of the game, Faragher managed to turn aside every chance and Cody Ferriero scored a late empty net goal to seal the win.

Indy will now host the Cincinnati Cyclones Saturday at 7:35 pm. The Morellis Cleaners Indy Fuel pregame show starts 15 minutes prior to puck drop on CBS Sports 1430.
