
8,558 Fans Turn out for Final Home Game of the 2012-13 Season

Orlando, FL - The Solar Bears fell to Florida Everblades by a 3-1 score in front of 8,558 fans at the Amway Center for their final home game of the 2012-13 season on Wednesday night.
Florida started the scoring with a power play goal at 5:39 in the first period. F Adam Brace took control of the puck at the blue line and fired a pass to F Matthew Pistilli who redirected the puck in front of the net, giving Florida a 1-0 lead that continued into the second period.
With the Solar Bears on the power play early in the second period, F Will MacDonald forced a turnover in the attacking zone, swung in front of the net, and fired a shot past G Bryce Merriam and into the back of the cage for a shorthanded goal. The marker put Florida ahead by a 2-0 score, which they carried into the final frame.
The Everblades widened their lead to 3-0 in the third period. LW Mathieu Roy gathered the rebound off a shot from C David Rutherford and fired a it home 5:11 into the frame. C Ryan Cruthers struck back to put the Solar Bears on the board at 8:49 of the period when he picked the top corner of the net on a feed from C Dale Mahovksy. Orlando pulled the goalie for an extra attacker with just over 2:30 to play, but the Everblades held the Solar Bears off the board to take the 3-1 victory.

The Solar Bears had four players make their Solar Bear debuts tonight, as G Bryce Merriam, LW Joel Broda, D Colton Jobke, and D Joe Marciano all appeared in their first games with Orlando. It was the professional debuts for both Merriam and Marciano... The Solar Bears played their final home game of the 2012-13 season tonight... Orlando has two more games on the road, both in Florida, to end the 2012-13 Out of Hibernation Season.
