Severyn Returns, Minnesota Sends Pair to Orlando

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that forward C.J. Severyn has been returned from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL), left wing Joel Broda has been assigned to Orlando by their NHL affiliate, the Minnesota Wild, from their AHL affiliate, the Houston Aeros, and defenseman Colton Jobke has been assigned to Orlando by their NHL affiliate, the Minnesota Wild. In addition, the Solar Bears have agreed to terms with defenseman Joe Marciano.

Severyn has played in 59 games for the Solar Bears this season, scoring 21 goals and adding 21 assists for 42 points. He is currently second on the team in goals, and is tied for third with C Ryan Cruthers in points. Severyn played in six games with the Charlotte Checkers, and last played for the Solar Bears on March 10, earning one assist. The Beaver, PA, native was recently named the MVP of the Solar Bears for the 2012-13 season in a ceremony last week. He is expected to play in tonight's game against Florida at the Amway Center at 7:00 p.m.

Broda (6'0", 203 lbs.) has played in 28 games with the Houston Aeros this season, notching two goals and two assists for four points. Originally a draft pick of the Washington Capitals in the fifth round of the 2008 NHL entry draft, Broda has skated in 122 games in the AHL, all with Houston, scoring 21 goals and adding on 17 assists for 38 points. He had a 32 game stint in the ECHL with the Bakersfield Condors in 2010-11, scoring 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points.

Jobke (6'0", 170 lbs.) was assigned to the Solar Bears from the Houston Aeros by the Minnesota Wild. He has skated in 31 games with the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League (WHL) this season, scoring three goals and chipping in 15 assists for 18 points along with 58 penalty minutes (PIM). The Tsawwassen, BC, native has appeared in 222 games during his WHL career, tallying 14 goals and 51 assists for 65 points to go along with 317 PIM.

Marciano (6'2", 209 lbs.) has spent the last four seasons with Colorado College (NCAA). He was selected the WCHA (Western Collegiate Hockey Association) All-Academic team this season after posting two goals and six assists for eight points in 42 games. In 152 games with Colorado College, Marciano picked up seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points and 167 PIM. The Alta Loma, CA, native played two seasons with the U.S. National Development team from 2006-08, playing in 82 games while scoring five goals and assisting on nine others.
