Jackals Receive Ben Blood from Binghamton

WHEELING, W.Va. - March 27, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that defenseman Ben Blood has been reassigned to the club by the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators from the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators.

Blood, 24, has joined the Jackals for his sixth stint with the team. The rookie out of North Dakota has one goal, a +8 rating, and 19 penalty minutes in 29 games with Elmira. His first professional goal was the game winner in overtime against Evansville on January 11. Blood, 6-3, 225-pounds, has also logged 24 AHL games with Binghamton. He was a fourth round draft pick (#120 overall) of the Ottawa Senators in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Blood is expected to be in the lineup when the Jackals take on the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena tonight.

In separate transactions, the Jackals have placed forward Jean Bourbeau on reserve and activated defenseman Steven Kaunisto from reserve.
