Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers outlasted the Ontario Reign tonight, picking up two points in a close battle for playoff seeding.
Las Vegas outshot Ontario 16-7 through the first period, and a scoreless opening 20 minutes loomed until Wranglers forward Andrew Sarauer tallied a goal with 45 seconds left. Reign forward C.J. Stretch knotted the game on a power play opportunity five minutes into the second.
The 1-1 score held until late in the period, when Wranglers center Judd Blackwater posted his 18th goal of the season to regain the one-goal lead for Las Vegas. Wranglers goaltender Mitch O'Keefe and Reign goaltender Jean-Francois Berube stopped seven and 13 shots, respectively, in the third to give the Wranglers the 2-1 victory.
With the Las Vegas win tonight, a regulation loss by the Colorado Eagles tomorrow night would secure the fifth seed for the Wranglers in the first round of the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The Wranglers play their final regular season game against the Bakersfield Condors on Friday, March 29. Friday's game will also be "Fan Appreciation Night," where fans can win prizes and get post-game autographs from the entire team.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
