Lions Add Free Agent C.J. Coldon to Secondary
April 16, 2026 - (Vancouver) - The BC Lions announced today the signing of American defensive back C.J. Coldon.
"C.J. is a young, talented defensive back who gives us another weapon on defence. He will be expected to compete right away," said general manager Ryan Rigmaiden.
Coldon (5'11, 185 lbs)- moves west after spending parts of the last two seasons with the Ottawa REDBLACKS. After signing with Ottawa in September 2024, he appeared in one game that season with seven defensive tackles and a forced fumble.

April 16, 2026 - The United Football League featured a lesson in resilience in week three. After St. Louis Battlehawks Head Coach Ricky Proehl benched quarterback Brandon Silvers late in the first half, in came Harrison Frost to face the Birmingham Stallions. For 15 minutes, it appeared Proehl had made a huge error.
With St. Louis nursing a three-point lead in the third quarter, Birmingham cornerback Mario Goodrich intercepted Frost's first pass of the ballgame and returned it 40 yards for six points.

April 16, 2026 - OTTAWA - The Ottawa REDBLACKS announced today that the football club has released national kicker Lewis Ward.
Ward saw action in 117 games over his seven seasons with the REDBLACKS (2018-25), converting 300 of 347 field goal attempts (86.5%) with a career long of 56 yards while also registering 140 of 151 convert attempts (92.7%).
