April 2, 2026 - Saskatoon, Sask. - The Edmonton Oil Kings are now deadlocked at 2-2 in their best of seven series with the Saskatoon Blades after a 5-2 win in Saskatoon on Wednesday night.
It was a first period of first for the Oil Kings in the hockey game, as Miroslav Holinka scored for Edmonton just over seven minutes in to make it 1-0 as the Oil Kings opened the scoring for the first time in the series. Last night, the Oil Kings had a 3-1 lead slip away, and were outshot 14-4 in the third period, and 33-26 in the game. However, the Oil Kings dominated the second frame of the game, outshooting the Blades 17-5. The game was an exciting one on of the ice as the clubs played their third straight one goal game of the series.
Through 40 minutes of this one, each team seemingly dominated one period.

March 31, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today the Conference Second All-Star teams today with Oil Kings Ethan MacKenzie and Miroslav Holinka both earning spots.
MacKenzie, out of Peachland, B.C., had a breakout season this year with the Oil Kings scoring 22 goals and adding 36 assists for 58 points. He was just the second Oil Kings defenceman to hit 20 goals in a season and also the second defenceman in team history with 10 powerplay goals in a year.
