Stockton Edges Utah 2-1, Grizzlies Take 2 of 3 on Weekend

Stockton, California - The Stockton Thunder defeated the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 Sunday evening in Stockton.

Utah settles for two of three wins and four of six standings points in the weekend series after winning Friday and Saturday's games.

Stockton scored the game-winning goal on a five-on-three power-play 10:16 into the third period and that would be the final goal in the goaltending dual between Andrew Engelage who stopped 30 of 32 Stockton shots and Cody Reichard who stopped 39 of 40 Utah shots.

Utah took a 1-0 lead 4:32 into the second period as Jimmy Martin (5) raced through the right circle and buried a power-play goal assisted by Mitch Wahl and Ian Schultz. Stockton tied the game with 36 seconds left in the second period.

Utah is next in action Friday in Ontario for an 8 p.m. face-off, followed by a 7 p.m. face-off on Saturday with the Reign.

The Grizzlies are back home Friday, February 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 10 at 4 p.m. to host Idaho.
