Amerks Host Lake Erie Tonight At The Blue Cross Arena

Tonight, the Rochester Americans return to The Blue Cross Arena for their only home contest of the weekend as the Lake Erie Monsters make their first of three visits to the Flower City this season. The game will be the first of three for the Amerks this weekend. Faceoff for the North Division matchup is slated for 7:35 p.m. and can be heard live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.

Promotions: Tonight, in the spirit of Black Friday, the Amerks will kick off their first of two giveaways that will allow one lucky fan to take home a 42-inch Plasma Panel, HD Ready television. Fans that bring a receipt of purchase from their "Black Friday" shopping experiences (must be made in Rochester) can enter to win a chance to take home a new Plasma Television. Fans can show their receipts and enter their name, email address, and/or phone number given at the guest services booth. The booth is located in the upper atrium of the arena. Fans can also show their receipts at the box office window on the day of the game to receive three dollars off the regular premium ticket price ($22.25). Further, the Friday night game will be the next installment of the Amerks' "Seven Dollar Fridays", in which fans can purchase 200 Balcony and 200 Upper End seats for only $7.00. Head-to-Head: The game is the first of six scheduled meetings between the Amerks and Monsters this season. Rochester owns the all-time record between the two clubs after going 3-2-0-1 a season ago with the Colorado Avalanche's affiliate.

Amerks Notes: Rochester (2-16-0-1, five points) enters the contest on a seven-game losing streak, with the most recent loss coming in a 3-1 decision to the Toronto Marlies Wednesday morning at Ricoh Coliseum. Defenseman Franklin MacDonald netted the Amerks' lone goal to pick up his first of the season while second-year forward Kenndal McArdle earned an assist to reclaim the team lead with 10 points (3+7). Rookie defenseman Jason Garrison has a team-high eight assists, but presently sits locked in a second-place tie with Michal Repik with nine points overall. Michael Duco remains the Amerks' top goal scorer with a team-leading five goals thus far. Second-year blueliner Jordan Henry leads the team with a plus-one rating through just nine games. (1+2). Duco ranks first on the team and sixth in the American Hockey League with 83 penalty minutes (PIM), with McArdle a distant second with 51 PIM.

Player Moves: Amerks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned defenseman Luke Beaverson to the Florida Everblades. Beaverson, in his first full stint with the Amerks, registered one assist in eight games with Rochester this season. The Panthers also recalled rookie center Shawn Matthias for the second time this season. The 20-year-old has notched three goals and one assist for four points in 19 games with the Amerks.

Monsters Notes: Lake Erie (6-9-0-2, 14 points), coming off a six-game homestand, comes into the game after a 4-2 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on November 23rd at Quicken Loans Arena. The game was Lake Erie's only win in its last five outings. Lake Erie's offense is currently piloted by forwards Chris Stewart (5+6) and Chris Durno (4+7), each with 11 points, respectively. Stewart's five goals are also a team-high. Goaltender Tyler Weiman is ranked among all goaltending categories. His 2.12 goals-against average and .914 save percentage presently rank him 15th and 10th among league netminders, respectively. Further, his two shutouts are good enough for third. The Monsters presently hold a sixth-place standing in the AHL's North Division, nine points ahead of Rochester.

Next Game: Rochester travels to Van Andel Arena to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday, November 29th. The 7:00 p.m. North Division showdown will be the first of eight meetings between the teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
