Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - RHPs Bobby Brownlie and Jordan Zimmermann along with OF Mike Daniel were named Eastern League All-Stars on Wednesday. They will play in the EL All-Star Game against the Northern Division All-Stars in Manchester, New Hampshire on Wednesday, July 16th.

Brownlie, 27, is 6-0 with a 3.33 ERA in nine starts this year for the Senators. Brownlie was a minor-league free agent pickup by the Nationals over the off-season.

Zimmermann, 22, is 2-2 with a 4.33 ERA for Harrisburg. He dominated at Advanced-A Potomac, going 3-1 with a 1.65 ERA before being promoted on May 5th. Zimmermann was a second-round pick in the 2007 draft out of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He entered this season rated by Baseball America as the No. 7 prospect in the Nationals' system.

Daniel, 23, is batting .300 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs. This is the third straight season in which he has been voted to an All-Star team. Daniel was a New York-Penn League All-Star in 2006 for Vermont. Last year he was selected to play in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game for Hagerstown, but did not play because of a promotion. Daniel was a 7th-round selection in the 2005 draft out of the University of North Carolina.

Each Eastern League All-Star roster consists of 24 players. At least one position player and one pitcher for each Eastern League club were selected by fans of their teams through online and stadium balloting. The remaining selections were made through voting by league media members, managers and officials.

The Senators continue a four-game homestand tonight against the Bowie Baysox. The series runs through Thursday night with each game starting at 6:35 PM. A post-game fireworks show is slated for Thursday, July 3rd, presented by WINK 104 and the Pennsylvania Lottery. To order tickets, call the Senators box office at (717) 231-4444 or order online at senatorsbaseball.com.
