Zanoski, Roberts Called Up To Syracuse

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Tom Zanoski and defenseman Sam Roberts have been called up by the Gladiators' American Hockey League affiliate Syracuse Crunch. Zanoski had been returned on loan from AHL Toronto after appearing in one game, while Roberts makes his second trip to the AHL.

Zanoski, a 26-year-old third-year pro out of Dalhousie University, led all Gladiators with 25 goals in 42 games this season while adding 22 assists. The Brampton, Ontario native has appeared in 21 AHL games this season with Binghamton, Lake Erie, Albany, and Toronto, registering two goals, four assists, and 15 penalty minutes. He makes his seventh trip to the AHL this season.

Roberts made his pro debut with the Gladiators this season, scoring 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 70 games. He was voted a 2010 ECHL All-Star and was named to the ECHL All-Rookie team along with teammate and fellow defenseman and All-Star Drew Paris. Roberts, a 25-year-old St. Johns, Newfoundland native skated four seasons at St. Francis Xavier University prior to this season, where he tallied 13 goals and 56 assists in 109 total games.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
