ECHL Kalamazoo Wings

Countdown To Face-Off

April 6, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Game Preview

The American Conference Quarterfinals gets underway tonight, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Reading Royals in game one of the best-of-five series. Kalamazoo won the regular season meeting between the teams with a record of 5-0-1-0, with five of the seven meetings occurring before December 10th.

Clinching the North Division title last Saturday, the K-Wings secured the second seed in the conference. Playing the Royals in the first round is symbolic for the K-Wings, as Kalamazoo's first-ever road game as well as home game in the ECHL were versus Reading.

After missing the playoffs last season, the Royals return to the playoffs under head coach Larry Courville, who is in his first season behind the bench. Reading finished the regular season in second place in the East Division and are the seventh seed in the American Conference.
