LEADING OFF: West Virginia was tripped 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Lakewood. Mitch Keller limited the BlueClaws to two runs on five hits over seven innings. Jiondido Tromp hit a solo home run in the third to stake Lakewood to the lead. The Power tied the game on a run-scoring single by Tito Polo in the fifth. Jose Pujols's solo home run gave the Claws the lead back for good in the sixth. West Virginia went 1-11 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base, including four left on over the final three innings. Zach Morris earned the win in relief of Franklyn Kilome, Luis Morales picked up his second save of the series and Keller was tabbed with the loss as Lakewood capped a series sweep.

BRUSHED ASIDE: West Virginia was swept in a four-game series for the first time in nearly two years. Hickory was the last team two sweep a four-game set with the Power, accomplishing the feat from June 5 through 8, 2014. During the last four games, West Virginia was held to seven runs on 22 hits over 123 at bats.

ON THE FLY: The Power's seven game road swing takes them to Salisbury, Maryland for the first time this season. West Virginia and Delmarva will play five series this season totaling 18 games. The Power won the 2015 season series 12-3 and have a 72-62 advantage all-time against the Shorebirds. Seven of the 18 games will be played at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

BIG 5-0? Multiple reports have suggested that Alan Hanson will be recalled by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hanson played short for West Virginia during the 2012 season and was a South Atlantic League All-Star that summer. Since 2013, Hanson has played third, second and left field at the higher levels. If he appears in a game for Pittsburgh, he would be the 50th former Power player to reach the Major Leagues.

LINE OF DEMARCATION: From April 25 on, West Virginia is 4-13 and has been outscored 64-42. The Power have been held to three runs or less in 11 of those 17 games. West Virginia lost 11-10 in a walk-off at Lexington on April 24.

RISP-Y BUSINESS: West Virginia went 3-28 during the Lakewood series with runners in scoring position. The Power's season average has dropped to .249 with runners at second, third or both.

PEACE OUT: Cole Tucker's ninth inning home run Saturday was his first this season and first since June 4, 2015, before the shortstop's shoulder surgery. All five of Tucker's professional home runs have been hit on the road, regardless of what team of league he has played in.

THE WHIFF: Mitch Keller has 48 strikeouts over his first seven South Atlantic League starts spanning 41 innings. Through seven starts in 2013, Tyler Glasnow had struck out 42 batters in 30 innings. Glasnow would go on to strike out 164 batters, a Power franchise record, over 24 starts and 111.1 innings.

POWER POINTS: The next former Power player to reach the Majors will be the 50th to do so in franchise history... No Power players has a current hitting streak longer than catcher John Bormann's five game run. Bormann's 10 game on-base streak is also the longest current streak on the roster...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh avoided a series sweep by beating the Chicago Cubs 2-1. Gerrit Cole earned the win and Jung Ho Kang homered for the Buccos... Indianapolis dropped a 7-1 final at Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre... Altoona swept Richmond with a 6-2 win on Sunday. Reese McGuire and Chris Diaz had three hits each and Jose Osuna drove in three runs... Bradenton slipped past Palm Beach 3-2 in 11 innings.

PROMO UPDATE: On May 21, the Power host the Hickory Crawdads on Armed Forces Night. Any active or retired member of the military will receive a free ticket and their immediate family members are offered a discounted ticket price.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App. Adam Marco will call the action once again and will be joined by Greg Wong when the team plays at Appalachian Power Park.
