
Power Overcome Deficit to Win 6-3

(Salisbury, MD) - The West Virginia Power rallied to beat the Delmarva Shorebirds 6-3 on Monday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Shorebirds led 3-0 after six before the Power capitalized for six runs on seven hits over the final three innings.
Delmarva opened the scoring with a run again West Virginia starter Logan Sendelbach in the bottom of the second. Alex Murphy doubled and scored on a two-out single by Ademar Rifaela. The Shoreirds added two runs in the fourth on a solo home run by D.J. Stewart and back-to-back doubles by Steve Laurino and Rifaela for a 3-0 lead.
Reid Love worked six shutout innings to start, limiting the Power to two hits and two walks while striking out a career-hit eight batters. Love pitched to four batters in the seventh, allowing two singles with a walk in between. Ryan Nagle doubled to deep right, driving in Ke'Bryan Hayes, Daniel Arribas and Mitchell Tolamn to tie the game. Patrick Baker relieved Love, and, with one out and a runner on third, induced a ground ball to short. Ricardo Andujar misplayed the ball, allowing Nagle to score the go-ahead run.
Hayes hit a solo home run in the eighth to extend the lead. It was the 19 year-old's fourth home run this season, tied with Tito Polo and Arribas. In the ninth, Christian Kelley doubled in Tolamn to extend the lead to 6-3 and close the scoring.
Logan Sendelbach allowed three runs on six hits over five innings, but did not factor in the decision. Billy Roth (2-1) worked two innings for the win and Seth McGarry pitched the final two frames for his first South Atlantic League save. Love (2-3) took the loss for the Shorebirds.
Polo, Hayes and Tolman had multi-hit games for West Virginia while Nagle and Kelley drove in multiple runs each.
Game two of this three-game set is slated for Tuesday night at 7:05 P.M. JT Brubaker and Ofelky Peralta will start for the Power and Shorebirds, respectively.
