PREVIEW: The Delmarva Shorebirds open a three game series with the West Virginia Power tonight. West Virginia is the Class A Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Shorebirds continue their seven game homestand after winning three of four games against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, including yesterday's walk-off win. The Shorebirds began the season 4-6, but have a 16-9 record since then. West Virginia has struggled lately. After opening the season 14-3, the Power have gone 4-14 since April 26th and they were just swept over the weekend by the Lakewood BlueClaws. Despite their recent struggles, the Power sport the league's best pitching staff with a 3.03 team ERA.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Right-hander Logan Sendelbach takes the hill for the Power in game one of the series. Sendelbach is a Tiffin, Ohio native and pitched in college for Division II Tiffin University. Sendelbach was drafted in the 10th round of the 2015 MLB First Year Player Draft and is slated to make his 18th career start tonight. He is 4-4 with a 4.22 ERA in his young pro career, after debuting for the Bristol Pirates in the Appalachian League last summer.

LAST GAME QUICK HITS: Delmarva is coming off of it's most exciting win of the season. The 'Birds trailed 2-0 going into the fifth before Steve Laurino launched his first homer of the season. Laurino then tied the game with a one out single in the ninth inning. He finished a triple shy of the cycle in his best game of the year, going 3-for-5 with a HR and 2 RBI. Delmarva broke through in the 11th inning when Drew Turbin plugged the gap in deep right-center field to score Alex Murphy. The Shorebirds recorded just their second walk-off win of the season, and earned their first win in 14 tries when trailing after eight innings.
