RiverDogs Flex Their Muscles and Bark for Brew in Upcoming Homestand at the Joe

CHARLESTON, SC - Bark for joy and be a macho man this week as the first-place Charleston RiverDogs return from a weeklong road trip. Celebrating 20 years at beautiful Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the RiverDogs will pay tribute to our military, present another spectacular fireworks show, and give fans the chance to take on-field batting practice in another jam-packed homestand.

The RiverDogs will host the in-state rival Columbia Fireflies and the West Virginia Power as Charleston hosts Columbia in a four-game series from May 19-22, and then battle the Power from May 23-25.

Thursday, May 19, 7:05pm: Military Appreciation Night / Thirsty Thursday: Join DJ Natty Heavy in the Ashley View Pub for another Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95 SX. This special evening features $1 draft beers as the RiverDogs celebrate Military Appreciation Night presented by ISHPI. Wear your patriotic red, white and blue and honor America's Military at the game. Service members who present their Military I.D. at the gate will receive four free tickets to the game.

Friday, May 20, 7:05pm: Red Shirt Friday / Friday Night Fireworks: Want to blast the weekend off the right way? Come to The Joe and enjoy another spectacular Home Telecom postgame fireworks show. The RiverDogs will wear specialty red uniforms to honor our military as part of ISHPI Red Shirt Fridays presented by Mix 96. Fans that wear red to the game get $1 off their ticket purchase at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Wounded Warrior Corps. Be sure to get there early as the wonderful Landon Clements from Bravo's hit show Southern Charm will throw out our first pitch.

Saturday, May 21, 6:05pm: Saturdays Live at The Joe Presents Fan Batting Practice after the Game: Fans can continue to expect the unexpected as they join in "With the Crowd" in a summer series of postgame shows. Arrive early to get your player autographs on the concourse and stay late for the fourth "Saturday Live at The Joe" presented by Star 99.7. The RiverDogs continue the Saturday series as we crank up a dinger postgame event with live batting practice on the field. Do you have what it takes to hit a home run out of the park? Give it your best shot because if you do, you will win two tickets to every RiverDogs game for the rest of the season.

Sunday, May 22, 5:05pm: Bark for your Brew /Holy City Sunday / Kids Club Sunday / Jewish Day: The RiverDogs embrace Charleston's "Holy City" moniker that has defined the community as a place of unity for centuries. The club will wear specialty uniforms that proudly display the "Holy City" namesake across their pinstriped tops with a new 'HC' emblem on the caps. Along with our pre-game "Bark for your Brew" dog-friendly craft beer tasting at 2pm, dogs will be welcome to stick around for the ballgame this Sunday. There will be a pre-game parade for dogs on the field before the RiverDogs take on the Fireflies in the series finale. The Kids Choir from the Jewish Federation will be singing the Jewish and American National Anthems, and there will be a kosher food stand in Murray's Mezzanine. It's also a Kids Club Sunday where all Kid's Club members get in FREE. In association with Charleston County Parks & Recreation and Y102.5, every Sunday features free parking and Lowcountry youth eat free, enjoy pregame catch on the field and run the bases postgame presented by CPI Security.

Monday, May 23, 7:05pm: Blackbaud "Dogs with a Cause" benefitting the Junior League / Dog Day presented by Z93 Jamz/Youth Baseball Night: We put the "Dog" in RiverDogs as part of a Dog Day in conjunction with Camp Bow Wow and Z93 Jamz. Bring your pup to the park to cheer on the RiverDogs as you enjoy $1 beers and $1 hot dogs presented by Miller Lite and Paws Olympics. There will be several contests for dogs to compete in such as dog bowl beer pong, long distance treat catching, and more. "Dogs with a Cause" returns on Monday nights in association with Blackbaud, Inc. The RiverDogs and Blackbaud, the local software and services leader for the global philanthropic community, will share the spotlight with a different local nonprofit each Monday. On this night, we focus on the Junior League. Youth baseball night celebrates youth baseball in the Lowcountry where all players and coaches come out for free, as each team will be recognized in a pregame parade on the field.

Tuesday, May 24, 7:05pm: "Take Me Out" Tuesday / Night of Man: Are you a macho man or like to flex for the fun of it? Tuesday is your night to show off your manliness with manly feats of strength and bubble suit battles just some of the testosterone fueled competition fans can expect. You don't have to be a man to take advantage of another great night to get out "With the Crowd" on the a Miller Lite "Take Me Out Tuesday" presented by Harris Teeter and NASH FM. Special ticket packages include a 2-for-$20 deal that includes two tickets and two meals for just $20 (box office purchase only).

Wednesday, May 25, 7:05pm: Service Industry Night / Wine Down Wednesday / Seniors Eat Free: Join the RiverDogs and the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association as they help recognize individuals in the local service industry. Service industry employees who show proof with a pay stub will receive 30 percent off of their game ticket and food. It's also a "Wine Down Wednesday," presented by WEZL, as 50 lucky fans will be given free wine glasses and discounts in the Wine Garden from 6-7 pm. It'll also be Senior Wednesday as seniors who enter the stadium before 7pm will receive a free hot dog, chips and a drink.

Fans can also take advantage of a number of a one-of-a-kind food specials all homestand long, including deep fried bacon on a stick, pizza grilled cheese, a smoked corona fish & chips sandwich, and more. Try our new spin on beer shakes with the Peppermint Porter at the Pie House featuring mint chocolate chip ice cream mixed with Palmetto Espresso Porter, chocolate sauce, malted milk, and crushed peppermint candies. Don't forget that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so grab a Breakfast Dog at The Joe that includes diced up toasted waffles, bacon, and maple syrup drizzled on some classic ballpark fare.
