ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies walked off against the Asheville Tourists in the bottom of the tenth on Sunday afternoon. J.C. Rodriguez's triple drove home Vinny Siena and Columbia won, 5-4. The home team erased two deficits in the eighth and ninth innings to force extras and win it.
FRANCHISE FIRST: It was the first walk-off win in franchise history. Sunday was also the first extra inning game the Fireflies have played in.
TIME AFTER TIME: Columbia's Sunday afternoon game with Asheville lasted 3 hours and 25 minutes. That's a breeze compared to the length of Rome's game yesterday. The Braves defeated the Hickory Crawdads in a 19-inning, 5 hour and 17 minute game. That is the longest game in terms of innings in all of Minor League Baseball this season (longest in SAL in time).
CAN'T STOP HIM: Columbia infielder J.C. Rodriguez has reached base safely in 17 straight games - that streak stretches back to April 24. The switch-hitter is also hitting .458 over his last six games.
RBI LEADERS: Here are the RBI leaders in all of professional baseball.
