Wright Recalled to Iowa

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs have recalled outfielder Ty Wright from Double-A Tennessee today. Wright will add depth to the Iowa outfield after Lou Montanez was called up to Chicago yesterday. Wright, who began the season on the Iowa roster, was optioned to Tennessee on April 15.

Wright will wear uniform number 4 and be available for tonight's game against the Las Vegas 51s at Principal Park.

Wright hit .278 with a home run and three RBI in six games with Iowa before getting re-assigned to Tennessee. He played in only three games with the Smokies before spraining his ankle and being placed on the DL. He spent time at the Cubs' complex in Mesa, AZ rehabbing prior to today's call up.

Wright hit .298 in 73 games with Tennessee last season. He had 21 doubles, 10 home runs, and 51 RBI. He was named a mid-season All-Star prior to being called up to Iowa for the final 58 games of the season. He batted .240 (42-for-175) with seven doubles, a triple, a home run, and 16 RBI with the I-Cubs.
