Sacramento, California -Josh Donaldson had three hits including the go ahead RBI in the third inning as the Sacramento River Cats defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs 3-2 in front of 7,862 fans at Raley Field. The Zephyrs snapped a four game win streak.

The Zephyrs started strong scoring two runs in the first inning. Vinny Rottino drove home two runs with a line drive into centerfield scoring Bryan Petersen and Ozzie Martinez.

Sacramento struck back in the second inning when Anthony Recker and Matt Carson drilled solo home runs to tie the score at two. Donaldson's two out RBI in the thing inning drove home the go-ahead run for the Cats. Sacramento's pitching staff silenced the Zephyrs not allowing a hit from the third through the eighth inning. Graham Godfrey earned his fifth win of the season working five innings.

Z's starter Elih Villanueva dropped to 4-5 on the season. He allowed 3 runs in 2.2 innings of work. He allowed his 11th and 12th home runs of the season, second most in the PCL.

The Zephyrs had a pair of hits in the ninth inning but Willie Eyre picked up the save getting the final six outs.

Game Notes - The Zephyrs are 4-2 on their eight game west coast road-trip. The Florida Marlins promoted pitcher Steven Cishek and the Zephyrs added reliever Peter Andrelczyk from Double-A Jacksonville. Shortstop Ozzie Martinez joined the team and picked up two hits in four at bats.

Coming Up: The New Orleans Zephyrs continue their west coast trip with the third game of the series in Sacramento at 2:05. New Orleans will start RH Todd Doolittle (2-0, 2.70) vs. RH Travis Banwart (1-3, 2.93). RADIO: WMTI 106.1 FM.
