
Wranglers Win 13 Straight To Take Brabham Cup, Face Phoenix In Round One

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a perfect 4-0-0 record last week, extending the team's winning streak to 13 games and clinching the Brabham Cup, National Conference Regular Season Championship and the Pacific Division. Las Vegas started the week with a 4-3 win over Long Beach on Tuesday at the Orleans Arena. Wednesday night, the Wranglers edged the Ice Dogs in Long Beach 4-2. Las Vegas returned home to defeat Stockton 3-1 on Friday night and 2-1 on Saturday night.
Las Vegas is the number one seed in the National Conference and the Wranglers start a best-of-seven series with Phoenix on Tuesday at U.S. Airways Center at 7:11 pm. Game Two is scheduled for Thursday at 7:11 pm at the U.S. Airways Center. Game Three will take place at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena, followed by Game Four on Saturday, April 14th at the Orleans Arena. If necessary, Game Five will take place on Monday, April 16th at 7:05 pm and Game Six will be on Tuesday, April 17th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena. If necessary, Game Seven is slated for either Thursday, April 19th or Friday, April 20th at 7:11 pm at the U.S. Airways Center.

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs 4-3 on Tuesday night in front of 3,793 fans at the Orleans Arena. With the win the Las Vegas Wranglers reached the 100 point mark for the 2nd straight season, becoming only the second team in ECHL history to accomplish the feat. Aki Seitsonen's goal at 8:57 of the third period proved to be the game winner. Wranglers' defenseman Jason Jozsa scored a goal and forward Adam Cracknell added two assists in the win. Las Vegas clinched the Pacific Division with the victory.

LAS VEGAS, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs 4-2 on Wednesday night at the Long Beach Arena. Winger Arpad Mihaly scored twice for Las Vegas in the win. Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna made 21 saves for his 25th win of the season.

LAS VEGAS, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Stockton Thunder on Friday night in front of 5,762 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' forward Steve Crampton and defenseman Jason Jozsa each scored a goal and added an assist in the win. Goalie Mike McKenna stopped 16 of 17 Stockton shots for his 26th victory of the season. Center Colin Pepperall tallied the lone Stockton goal in defeat, as the Thunder saw their 11-game winning streak come to an end.

LAS VEGAS, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Stockton Thunder on Saturday night in front of 6,844 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' defenseman Aaron Power and forward Derek Edwardson scored for the Wranglers in the win. Wranglers' forwards Steve Crampton and Shawn Limpright assisted on both Las Vegas goals. Goalie Mike McKenna made 16 saves to pick up his 27th win of the season. Las Vegas clinched the Brabham Cup, awarded to the league's regular season champion. Las Vegas extended their winning streak to 13 games with the victory, one shy of tying the ECHL record of 14.

The Las Vegas Wranglers won the regular season series with Phoenix winning six of the nine games played. The Phoenix RoadRunners were led in scoring this regular season by Justin Aikins. In 70 games played, Aikins totaled 27 goals and added 30 assists for 57 points. Rookie winger Brock Hooton was second on the team in scoring with 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 points. The RoadRunners two leading scorers have combined to play only seven Kelly Cup Playoff Games. The only team in the National Conference with less playoff experience from their top two scorers is the Stockton Thunder. The RoadRunners are 2-8-0 in their last ten games, and have lost four straight heading into the playoffs. The RoadRunners have a home record of 15-19-2 during the regular season. The RoadRunners were outscored in their home building by 22 goals this season. The RoadRunners scored only 201 goals this season, the third lowest total in the ECHL. Phoenix was the third most penalized team in the ECHL during the regular season with 1,847 penalty minutes, averaging 25.7 minutes per game. Phoenix finished their season 5-22-3 in their last 30 games played.
