Bodie Returns For Playoff Run

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, has announced rookie right wing Troy Bodie has been reassigned to the Thunder from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Bodie, 22, is expected to be in the lineup for game one of the National Conference quarterfinal round of the 2007 Kelly Cup Playoffs against the Idaho Steelheads, beginning on Tuesday.

Bodie earned a promotion to Hamilton in February, appearing in 20 games with the Bulldogs while registering one assist with 29 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound right wing has scored 38 points (21g-17a) in 46 games with the Thunder, ranking second on the team with 21 goals. A ninth round (278th overall) selection by the Oilers in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Bodie earned a selection to the National Conference roster at this season's Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game, garnering an assist.

The Portage La Prairie, Manitoba native appeared in two preseason games with the Oilers in September, with Edmonton going 1-1-0 with Bodie in the lineup.

The Thunder returns to play for its first trip to the Kelly Cup Playoffs in team history, beginning with game one of the National Conference quarterfinal round on Tuesday, April 10 against the Idaho Steelheads, starting at 6:10 p.m. at Qwest Arena.
