
Everblades Make Changes To Roster Before Playoffs

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today several changes to the roster. The Everblades today saw three players, forward David Brine, defenseman Martin Tuma and goaltender David Shantz, reassigned to the roster from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In addition, the Everblades placed forward Dan Baum on the 3-day injured reserve list.
Tuma returns to the Everblades after his second stint in the AHL this season. The 21-year-old saw action in two games in his most recent call up this past weekend and did not register a point. Overall, in 24 games with the Americans, the former 5th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2003, has no points and 33 penalty minutes. With the Everblades this season the native of the Czech Republic had nine assists in 31 games.
Brine makes his return to the Everblades after spending over a month with Rochester. The Truro, Nova Scotia native notched eight points (4g, 4a) in 22 games with the Americans from March 4 - Apr. 9. The 21-year-old rookie began the season with the Everblades and saw action in 52 games prior to his call-up. Brine registered 30 points (9g, 21a) and 22 PIM during the regular season with the Everblades.
Shantz also makes his return to the Everblades lineup. The 20-year-old rookie was 13-7-1 with a 2.96 goals against average and a .908 save percentage in 23 games with the Everblades this season. Following his call-up to Rochester on March 30, the Hamilton, Ontario native played two games with the Americans and was 1-1-0, with a 4.51 GAA and a .880 save percentage.
Baum heads to the IR after missing the past three games. Since signing with the Everblades on Mar. 22 the Biggar, Sask. native skated in five games picking up one assist and accumulating 27 PIM. To make room on the 3-day IR for Baum, defenseman Chris Dyment was moved from the 3-day to the 7-day IR.
