ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades wrapped up the regular season with a big week going 3-0-0 to claim the South Division title. The Everblades finished the regular season with a record of 44-22-6 (94 pts, 1st South Div.).

GAME NOTES: The Everblades will begin the 2007 Kelly Cup Playoffs by hosting games 1 & 2 of the best-of-five South Division semi-final. The 'Blades will play the winner of the best-of-three series between the Charlotte Checkers and the Augusta Lynx. During the regular season the Everblades were 5-3-1 vs. Charlotte and finished with a record of 8-1-0 vs. Augusta.

Tuesday, April 3 at Pensacola Ice Pilots 9-0 W
The Everblades finished up their 2006-07 road schedule with their biggest win of the season a 9-0 victory over the Ice Pilots. 14 of 16 players picked up at least one point in the game and goaltenders Jamie Holden and Craig Kowalski combined on the team's fourth shutout of the season. Offensively Reggie Berg lead the way with four points (2g, 2a) and a plus-4 rating. Adam Taylor also chipped in two goals, and Mike Card, Brad Parsons, Brent McDonald, Derek Damon and Dustin Johner tallied the other goals. Defenseman Steve Czech set a new team and personal high with a plus-7 rating. In net, Kowalski got credit for the win by stopping all 25 Pensacola shots, after Holden started the game and played just the first 1:27. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-6, PK: 3-for-3.
Friday, April 6 vs. Augusta Lynx 5-4 W
The Everblades began the final weekend of the regular season with a 5-4 win over the Lynx on Friday night. After Augusta scoring the game's first goal, the Everblades tallied five of the next six to open a 5-2 lead six minutes into the third period. Reggie Berg notched two goals, while Jon Lehun, Vince Bellissimo and Derek Damon added the other tallies. The Lynx made it close with a pair of third period power play goals, but Craig Kowalski held tough in net stopping 20 of 24 shots he faced to hold on for the win. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-for-2; PK: 1-for-4.
Saturday, April 7 vs. Augusta Lynx 6-2 W
The Everblades finished up the regular season with a commanding 6-2 win over the Lynx on Saturday night. The Everblades exploded for four first period goals by Adam Taylor, Jon Lehun, Vince Bellissimo and Brad Zancanaro. The Everblades extended their lead to 5-0 on Lehun's second goal of the night midway through the second period before Augusta got their first goal of the night late in the second. Steve Czech increased the Everblade lead to 6-1 early in the third period, before the Lynx tallied their second goal shortly after. That was as close as Augusta would get as Craig Kowalski did the rest turning away 31 of 33 Augusta shots for the win. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-5, PK: 3-for-3.

Record Setting Night!: Everblades veteran forward Reggie Berg became the team's all-time leading scorer when he picked up an assist on Brad Zancanaro's empty net goal on Sunday at Pensacola. The point was the 311th of Berg's seven-year career in an Everblade uniform, which eclipsed the previous mark by Tom Buckley who registered 310 points in his five seasons with the Everblades. The most recent Everblades record is the sixth owned by the Anoka, Minn. native. Berg is also the all-time Everblades leader in goals (143), Plus/Minus (+83), Power Play Goals (32), Short-handed Goals (11), and Shots on Goal (1,112).
Milestone Nights: Everblades defenseman Ryan Brindley reached another milestone in his nine-year career. The 30-year-old played in his 500th career game last Sunday night at Pensacola. The game was the 156th of his Everblade career. During his career, that began in 1998-99, Brindley has registered 307 points (87g, 220a) and 878 penalty minutes in the now 501 games he's played in...In addition forward Brad Parsons reached the 50 goal plateau in his career with his goal on Tuesday night at Pensacola. The Kingston, Mass. Native has 111 assists to go with his goal total in 281 career games.
All-Time 'Blades Records: Midway through the season three Everblades all-time marks have been broken and several others are being approached. Brent McDonald became the all-time games played leader on Dec. 8 when he took the ice at Pensacola. His 289th game broke the previous all-time number of 288 held by Tom Buckley. In addition, Reggie Berg became the organization's all-time leader in shots on goal on December 23rd vs. South Carolina when he took his 998th shot on goal, surpassing Buckley. Berg also became the team's all-time leader in power play goals when he tallied his 31st all-time on the man advantage on Jan. 26 vs. Gwinnett, breaking Matt Demarski's previous high-water mark of 30. Berg also became the team's all-time leading point getter with an assist in Sunday's 5-3 win at Pensacola. The point was his 311th, which eclipsed Buckley's mark of 310.
