Wranglers trade for Kenady, Lynch to South Carolina

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today a three-team trade involving the Long Beach Ice Dogs and the South Carolina Stingrays. The Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League have recalled right wing Darren Lynch and reassigned the forward to the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. The Stingrays send left wing Ty Morris to the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL. Long Beach trades the rights to forward Chris Kenady to the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Kenady returns to the Las Vegas Wranglers where he helped the inaugural team (2003-04) post a 43-22-7 record and a Kelly Cup Playoff appearance. The 32-year old scored 13 goals and 30 points in only 40 games with Long Beach this season. During the 2003-04 season with Las Vegas, Kenady tied for the team lead with 21 goals and finished second on the team in scoring with 59 points in 71 games played. The Mound, MN native also placed third on the team with 152 penalty minutes. For his career, Kenady has 204 goals and 242 assists for 446 points in 677 professional games. The rugged winger also compiled 1,163 career penalty minutes over that span. In 1991, the St. Louis Blues selected Kenady in the eighth round (#174 overall) of the NHL Entry Draft. In seven NHL appearances with the Blues and the New York Rangers, Kenady dished out two assists.

The 11-year veteran brings a wealth of playoff experience with 63 career playoff games. Over that span, Kenady has 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points, to go along with 92 penalty minutes. In five playoff games with Las Vegas in 2003-04, Kenady tied for the team lead with four points (3G-1A). During the 2000 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs, Kenady set a Hartford Wolf Pack record with four goals in one game and added two assists for a six-point night. The Wolf Pack went on to win the 2000 Calder Cup.

Lynch spent the last two seasons with the Wranglers, scoring 22 goals and adding 20 assists for 42 points in 98 career games with the Wranglers.

The Wranglers conclude their season-long, nine-game road trip with a game in Phoenix on Thursday before returning home on March 17th to host the Alaska Aces for a three-game series. On Friday March 17th, the Wranglers will wear specialty jerseys for St. Patrick's Day. The jerseys, sponsored by McMullan's Irish Pub, the official Irish Pub of the Las Vegas Wranglers, will be available for purchase through a silent auction on the concourse during the game.

Bright orange "Dick Cheney" hunting vests with the slogan "DON'T SHOOT, I'M HUMAN" will be given to the first 1,000 fans that attend the Las Vegas Wranglers game on Friday, March 17, the Wranglers announced Tuesday. The vest will also feature a Wranglers' logo.

Playoff tickets are now available for the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Fans may purchase a strip of tickets that will include every home playoff game for as little as $200.00 per seat. Fans may obtain playoff ticket information from the Wranglers' front office by calling 702-471-7825 (PUCK). Wranglers season ticket holders and mini-plan holders have the first right of refusal for there seats.

Tickets for all games are on sale now. Fans may purchase seats to all Wranglers home games at any of the following ticket locations: The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast, South Coast and Suncoast, or at the Galleria Mall guest relations/ticket centers.
