Phoenix RoadRunners News Release

Phoenix, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have traded defenseman Shaun Fisher to the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for future considerations, and acquired forward and former ECHL All-Star Nick Ganga from the Utah Grizzlies.

Fisher, 26, collected 14 assists and 15 points in 33 games with the RoadRunners after being acquired along with forward Jake Riddle from the Augusta Lynx on December 2. The Detroit, Mich. native and fifth-year professional was originally traded to San Diego last Thursday along with forward Jean-Francois Soucy in exchange for forward Patrick Levesque and future considerations, but his rights were dealt back to Phoenix yesterday in exchange for goaltender Mike Mole. Fisher led all RoadRunners defensemen in scoring with four goals and 23 points in 49 games.

Ganga, 27, comes to Phoenix as one part of the future considerations received yesterday from Utah in exchange for forward Joe Dusbabek and defenseman Brent Henley. The Long Beach, Calif. native and fifth-year professional has two assists in 17 games this season between the Long Beach Ice Dogs and Bakersfield Condors. Ganga was acquired by Utah from Long Beach last Friday, but did not appear in any games for the Grizzlies. An ECHL All-Star in 2004 with Long Beach, Ganga has tallied 23 goals, 89 points and 613 penalty minutes in 248 career games.

In a separate transaction, the RoadRunners have signed rookie forward Eric Frank. Frank, 24, finished tied for second overall in scoring in the ECAC Northeast Conference this season with 20 goals and 42 points in 28 games as a senior at Division III UMASS-Dartmouth. A native of Waltham, Mass., Frank helped the Corsairs capture the 2006 ECAC Northeast Conference regular season and conference championship and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11PM on Thursday as they conclude a two-game series with the Las Vegas Wranglers. It's the final installment of the RoadRunners season-long "Past Greats Night" series as Phoenix honors former player, coach, and general manager Adam Keller. The first 2,000 fans will receive a voucher good for a commemorative Adam Keller pint glass upon exiting the arena. The RoadRunners will also host another "Thirsty Thursday" presented by Alice Cooper'stown. Head to Cooper'stown located behind US Airways Center after the RoadRunners lasso the Wranglers and enjoy pints of Bud and Bud Light for just $3, the "Best Damn Margarita" for only $4 and other great drink specials throughout the night.
