Jaeger named runner-up for goaltender of the week

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Falcons goaltender Brett Jaeger was named runner-up for the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week award today. Garnering the league's top goaltending honors for the week of March 6 - March 12 was the Johnstown Chiefs' Morgan Cey.

Fresno's All-Star netminder started three games for the team last week, going 2-0-1 with a 1.30 goals against average and .956 save percentage. Jaeger's performance lifted him to seventh in the ECHL with a goals against average of 2.58 for the season. His overall record is 19-6-8 with a save percentage of .916 in 34 appearances. Jaeger was previously named the league's Goaltender of the Week during the first week of November before earning runner-up accolades for November's Goaltender of the Month award.

Fellow Falcons netminder Jamie Holden was re-assigned to the club today from the American Hockey League's Cleveland Barons. Holden was between the pipes for the Barons this past Saturday in a 5-0 loss to the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights. In three stints this season with Fresno's AHL affiliate, Holden is 5-7-0 with a 3.50 goals against average and .894 save percentage.

Fresno plays the first of three games in a row against the Long Beach Ice Dogs tomorrow at Long Beach Arena at 7 p.m. The game can be heard live beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the FutureTek Pre-game Show on 1550 Sporting News Radio. Fans may also view the game online courtesy of B2 Networks, which can be accessed via the Falcons home page at www.fresnofalcons.com.

The top two teams in the Pacific Division then return to Fresno for a pair of match-ups at Save Mart Center on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The Falcons will be wearing green jerseys during both games to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, which will be auctioned off following Saturday's tilt to benefit Community Food Bank.

The first 2,500 fans at Friday's game will receive a commemorative St. Patrick's Day puck courtesy of Supercuts, KSEE 24, and 95.7 The Fox, while the first 2,000 fans at Saturday's contest will go home with a Fraser Clair bobblehead doll courtesy of Citizen's Business Bank, CBS 47, and Y101.
