Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced the acquisition of defenseman Nathan Tennant from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for future considerations. The Condors also announced the acquisition of defenseman Shaun Fisher from the Phoenix Roadrunners for future considerations and the signing of free agent forward Jack Baker.

Tennant, 23, is in his rookie season following four seasons of major junior hockey and three seasons of Canadian college play. The 6-foot, 196-pound defenseman has notched six assists in 28 games with the Bombers this year. Tennant played 237 games in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs and the Plymouth Whalers from 1998- 2002, recording 21 goals and 69 assists in that time.

Fisher, 26, is in his fifth season as a professional and arrives from Phoenix after starting the season with the Augusta Lynx. Fisher has played 49 games and has recorded four goals and 19 assists. Last season, the 5-foot-11, 170 pound defenseman recorded career highs with 11 goals and 22 assists with the Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League.

Baker, 26, has played 32 games in the American Hockey League including 30 appearances with the Philadelphia Phantoms in 2002-03. This is Baker's fourth season as a professional following four seasons at Boston University where he played alongside Condor Brian Collins for three years. In 92 career games, the 5-foot-7 Boston native has picked up 13 goals and 18 assists.

"Tennant's a fresh set of legs that can help us out. He's very similar to [Condors defenseman] Tyler Scott and he's excited to be on a playoff team." said Head Coach Marty Raymond. "We needed a power play guy like Fisher. The doctor examined him and he'll be good to go in a week. Baker's a guy we can use down the stretch. He showed last night he can still play."
