Gladiators trade Kelman's rights to Fresno

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have traded the rights to forward Scott Kelman to the Fresno Falcons in exchange for financial considerations.

Currently on recall to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League, Kelman as posted 47 points in 46 games for the Gladiators this season. He currently shares 4th on the Gladiators in assists with 33 on the season.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native is currently on his 3rd call up to the AHL this season. He posted two assists in three games during his first call up to the AHL this year with Manitoba. He then appeared in two games for Hershey before his current call up to Lowell. In 6 games with the Lock Monsters, Kelman has posted 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points.

Kelman as drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round of the 1999 NHL draft with the 15th overall pick. He has appeared in the AHL during each of his first three professional seasons.

Kelman will remain with Lowell and upon his reassignment to the ECHL, he will be assigned to the Fresno Falcons.

The Gwinnett Gladiators, who have already clinched a 2006 Kelly Cup Playoff berth, continue the 2005-06 ECHL season on the road as they travel to Greenville to take on the Grrrowl at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, March 17th.
