Mike Ayers returns to Dayton

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL announced today that goaltender Mike Ayers has been reassigned by the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Ayers has been back and forth between Syracuse and Dayton all season. He has played in 21 games for each team. He has a 12-6-1 record, a 2.59 GAA and a .920 SV% and 3 shutouts in Syracuse. While in Dayton, Ayers is 7-12-1, with a 3.57 GAA and a .889 SV%.

Prior to his last call up by the Crunch, Ayers was 2-0 with the Bombers in his last two starts with a 2.31 GAA and a .909 SV%. Both victories came via the shootout in which he stopped all seven shots against the Johnstown Chiefs.

Ayers is expected to start in Wheeling this Friday night as the Bombers take on the Nailers for the ninth time this season.
