Wranglers to Meet Thunder in First Round of 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs

Las Vegas - Officially clinching the fifth seed in the Western Conference, the Las Vegas Wranglers will face the fourth-seed Stockton Thunder in the first round of the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The best-of-seven Western Conference Quarterfinals begin Friday, April 5, on the road in California, and the complete schedule is as follows:

Game 1 @ Stockton Thunder on Friday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. - Stockton Arena

Game 2 @ Stockton Thunder on Saturday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. - Stockton Arena

Game 3 vs. Stockton Thunder on Monday, April 8, at 7:05 p.m. - Orleans Arena

Game 4 vs. Stockton Thunder on Tuesday, April 9, at 7:05 p.m. - Orleans Arena

Game 5 (if necessary) vs. Stockton Thunder on Wednesday, April 10, at 7:05 p.m. - Orleans Arena

Game 6 (if necessary) @ Stockton Thunder on Friday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. - Stockton Arena

Game 7 (if necessary) @ Stockton Thunder on Sunday, April 14, at 4 p.m. - Stockton Arena

Las Vegas currently holds a 36-30-2-3 record (77 points), and is the fifth seed in the Western Conference, while Stockton has a 36-26-5-4 record (81 points) for the fourth seed. In eight games this season, the Wranglers went 2-1-0 against the Thunder when playing at home and 2-3-0 when on the road.

The postseason contests will also have Wranglers head coach and general manager Ryan Mougenel up against Thunder head coach Matt Thomas for the first time in playoff history. Mougenel was an assistant coach to Thomas with the Thunder and now-defunct Fresno Falcons from 2005-09. The two also won a Kelly Cup championship in 2003 when Mougenel was a forward for the now-defunct Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies while Thomas acted as assistant coach to the team in 2002-03.

The Wranglers wrap up the regular season with "Fan Appreciation Night" tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. against the Bakersfield Condors. The entire Wranglers team will sign autographs after the game, and fans can win a variety of prizes throughout the night.
