
Mazzolini and Guggenberger Named to All-ECHL Second Team

Alaska Aces forward Nick Mazzolini and goaltender Mark Guggenberger were named to the All-ECHL Second Team, the Aces and the ECHL announced on Thursday. Mazzolini is tied for the league lead in goals and Guggenberger is among the leaders in multiples statistical categories.The Aces will visit the Ontario Reign this weekend to complete the final weekend of the regular season. The club returns home to host Games 1 and 2 of the Conference Quarterfinals against the San Francisco Bulls on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6 at Sullivan Arena. Mazzolini shares the league lead with 36 goals and is fifth with 71 points - both career highs. He is tied for the ECHL lead with four shorthanded goals and is second with nine game-winning goals. He is the Aces leading scorer, and will finish the year as the Aces top point producer for the second time in the last four seasons.
Guggenberger is third in the ECHL with a 2.21 goals-against average, tied for fourth with 24 wins, and tied for fifth with a .918 save percentage. He ranks tenth with 2,254 minutes played and is tied for fourth with three shutouts. Last season Guggenberger was named both the Goaltender and Rookie of the Year in the Central Hockey League.
The announcement marks the third straight season that the Aces have had players named to the All-ECHL First or Second Teams. The entire list of players recognized is below.
