
Mathieu Roy Named to All-ECHL First Team

ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades are pleased to announce Thursday that forward Mathieu Roy has been named to the 2012-13 All-ECHL First Team.
Roy leads the ECHL with a career-high 84 points, and is tied for first with 36 goals. In addition, Roy is tied for fifth with 48 assists, and is just one of eight players in the league to record multiple hat tricks this season. In February, Roy was named the ECHL Player of the Month.
Roy posted 46 points (18g, 28a), along with 108 penalty minutes last season. The Amos, Quebec native also tallied 10 points (5g, 5a) in 18 playoff games last spring to help lead Florida to its first Kelly Cup championship.
Roy has totaled 276 points in 391 ECHL games split between the Everblades and the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
The All-ECHL First Team is determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.

The Everblades will now return home for Fan Appreciation Weekend this Friday & Saturday against Orlando ! For both nights, the first 2,500 fans will receive an Everblades Team Photo courtesy of FGCU. Fans will also have an opportunity to win some great prizes throughout both games. Friday's game is Team Awards Night; the awards ceremony will take place prior to the game. There will be a Player's jersey auction following Saturday's game.
FGCU GAME WATCHING PARTY FRIDAY! Takes place following Friday's game with Orlando. The game will be shown on the video boards in the main rink, and up in the Breakaway's Sports Pub at Germain Arena. Breakaway's will offer 1/2 priced appetizers and happy hour drink specials for the game! FGCU students who wish to attend the Everblades game prior to the FGCU game may purchase $5 tickets at the Capital Bank Box Office by presenting their college I.D.
