Gladiators Open Playoffs on Home Ice Next Week

The Gwinnett Gladiators have secured home ice in the first round of the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs. With the result of last night's 6 - 2 Elmira loss to Wheeling, Gwinnett can finish no lower than 4th overall in the Eastern Conference Standings.

While the date of Game 1 is still undecided, Gwinnett will definitely host Game 2 of the 2013 Kelly Cup Conference Quarterfinals at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Saturday, April 6th at 7:05 p.m. If the Gladiators face the Greenville Road Warriors in the Quarterfinals, the date of Game 1 will be Wednesday, April 3rd with a 7:05 p.m. start time. If the Gladiators face either the Elmira Jackals, the South Carolina Stingrays or the Toledo Walleye, Game 1 will be on Friday, April 5th at 7:05 p.m. All games will be at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Full Season Ticket Holders and fans with playoff tickets should use tickets labeled GAME A or Game 1 for the opening game. Saturday's match-up will require GAME B or Game 2 tickets for admission.

With three days remaining in the regular season, the Gladiators first round opponent is still undetermined with just three points separating the 5th place Elmira Jackals and the 8th place South Carolina Stingrays. All the potential first round scenarios are included at the end of this release.

The Gladiators can capture the South Division title with a win on Saturday, March 30th against the Greenville Road Warriors at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Gladiators can also capture the Division title with a loss by the Florida Everblades in regulation in one of the final two regular season games against Orlando on Friday or Saturday night.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
