TItans GameDay at Reading, March 28 - Game 70 (Away 34)

March 28, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

February 24, 2013 - Trenton swept the home-and-home set with Reading after a 5-3 road win. After Scott Wedgewood pitched the first Titans' shutout (6-0) in two years, Brooks Ostergard was brilliant in stopping 36 shots, while Stephen Schultz paced the scoring with a PPG and two assists.

Final Meeting

This is the last meeting of the year between the two fierce Atlantic Division rivals. Trenton finished the home portion of this year's series with a 5-3 record, including Reading's only three OTL this season. The Titans are currently 2-3-0-1 at the Sovereign Center this season.

Record (Home/Away); Streaks

Reading: 26-7-0-1 Home (7-3 in last 10). The Royals have won eight straight and are 9-1 in their last 10 overall. Trenton: 12-17-2-2 Road (4-5-0-1 in last 10). The Titans are on a three-game win streak and are 7-3 overall in their last 10. Trenton has won 5-of-7 over Reading, including the last three. The Titans also won the last road meeting, ending a 4-game losing streak in Reading.

Looking To Finish What They Started

Since allowing a PPG at 15:03 of the first period on October 17 (the second meeting of the year), the Titans have shutout the Royals 51-straight times on the man advantage. Overall the Titans have killed 57-of-59 Royals PP chances this year.

That streak could be in some jeopardy as the Titans PK unit - Top-5 all year and recently knocked from the #1 spot after over a month - has allowed at least one goal in each of the last six games and hasn't gone perfect on the PK since March 10 against Orlando. They are currently 7th (83.8).

Meanwhile Reading, which had the worst PP in the league early in the season, has improved dramatically and is 13th in the league at 17.8 percent (55-309)
