Kraemer and Yellow Horn Named to All-ECHL 2nd Team
March 28, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Ontario Reign News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced that Kyle Kraemer and Colton Yellow Horn have been named to the 2012-13 All-ECHL Second Team.
Kraemer earned his spot on the team after ranking fifth in the league with 71 points from 30 goals and 41 assists. The St. Louis, MO native is fourth in the league and second in the Reign with a +26.
Kraemer, a third year Reign skater, set a new team record for most assists in a single game when he recorded five helpers on November 24 at Bakersfield. The forward posted 21 multi-point games this season including his five-point game against the Condors, and a four-point game against the Bulls.
The 28-year-old forward was named the ECHL's Plus Performer of the Month in November when he recorded a +14. Kraemer was even or better in all 10 appearances during the month including his +5 performance against Bakersfield.
Yellow Horn was a stand-out for the Reign and the league until his first AHL call-up on February 15 to the Manchester Monarchs. Even after missing 22 ECHL games, Yellow Horn still holds a tie for the league-lead with 36 goals, a new single season milestone for Ontario. In 48 games, the 25-year-old earned 58 points including 15 multi-point games, and a league-leading, and team record setting, 10 game-winning goals.
The Brocket, Alberta native also registered a Reign record-tying, three Hat Tricks. His 1.21 points per game record held on as the star winger never went more than two games without earning a point. During his time with Ontario, Yellow Horn had a seven-game point streak followed by an 11-game point streak and was named ECHL Player of the Month for his 20-point performance through January 2013.
In Manchester, Yellow Horn is still turning heads as he has earned 14 points (6g, 8a) in just 18 games.
