
Wranglers smoke Salmon Kings, 5-2

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Victoria Salmon Kings 5-2 in front of 4,367 fans. Five different goal scorers lit the lamp for the Wranglers, as Dustin Johner led the team in scoring with three assists. Goalie Marc Magliarditi made 28 saves for the win. Las Vegas scored four goals in the first period to help move the team to 4-2-1 on the season. Las Vegas will host Toledo tomorrow night at 7:05 pm on Saturday night.
Dana Lattery got the Wranglers started with his fifth goal of the season just forty-one seconds in to the game. The goal was the fastest goal scored from the beginning of a game this season for Las Vegas. Las Vegas defenseman Ryan Gaucher quickly added the second goal of the game just 2:08 later on the power play. Wranglers' forward Jeff Attard intercepted a clearing attempt by Victoria starting goaltender David Brumby and put the puck into the net for the 3-0 Wranglers lead at 4:26 of the first period. Las Vegas rookie Chris Stanley capped off the four-goal first period by adding his first goal of his career with 5:50 left.
Victoria got on the board for the first time 2:04 seconds into the second period as Rob Voltera jammed in a rebound on the power play to make it a 4-1 Las Vegas lead after two periods of play.
After Victoria's Ryan Watson cut the Las Vegas lead to 4-2 with his second goal of the season, Las Vegas center Rejean Stringer put the victory away with his second goal of the season coming with just 3:53 left in the game.
Saturday night, Cox Communications will giveaway Wranglers Binders to the first 1,000 kids in attendance. Also, on Saturday from 4:00-6:00 pm in the parking lot of the Orleans, Port-Of-Subs and STAR 102.7 FM will host the Wranglers-Port-Of-Subs Pre-Game party with live music and refreshments.
