Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release

FLORENCE, SC -- Kyle Kidney and Mark Mullen provided the offense, and Sebastien Laplante and the Pee Dee defense shut down Columbia as the Pride blanked Columbia 2-0 in front of 3,297 fans Saturday night at the Florence Civic Center.

Kidney tallied the game's first goal 5:52 into the opening period, redirecting a shot past Inferno netminder Rob McVicar.

The 1-0 score held up until the 12:19 mark of the final period when Mullen broke free and beat McVicar on a breakaway for his fifth goal of the season.

Pee Dee's defense was stingy, holding Columbia to just 13 shots for the game, and only two in the final period.

The Pride head back on the road next weeekend, traveling to Estero, Florida for a pair of games against the Florida Everblades on Friday and Saturday. Both games start at 7:30, and can be heard on WDAR Sunny 105.5 and www.peedeepride.com starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 7:10.

Pee Dee returns home on Friday, November 26, hosting the Charlotte Checkers at 7:30 p.m. All fans are encouraged to bring a new toy to the game to donate to the United States Marines Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

Tickets for all Pride home games are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
