Wranglers host Steelheads and Falcons this weekend

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® posted a 0-1-1 record last week with both defeats coming in Utah at the E-Center. Friday night, the Grizzlies edged the Wranglers 3-2 in overtime. Saturday night, the Wranglers dropped a 3-2 decision.

Las Vegas returns to home ice on Friday, January 26th at 7:05 pm to host the Idaho Steelheads. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Wranglers sports bottle sponsored by Brian Perkes, the exclusive and official realtor of the Las Vegas Wranglers. Call Brian Perkes at 702-326-8665.

The Wranglers will then host the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party in the concourse of the Orleans Arena from 4:30 - 6:30 pm on Saturday, January 27th. The event will be followed with the Wranglers taking on the Steelheads at 7:05 pm. The "Zooperstars" will perform at Saturday's game. Sunday, Las Vegas will host Fresno at 5:05 pm. Anna Jack, the hula hoop girl from Late Night with David Letterman, will perform at Sunday's game.

Las Vegas 2 at Utah 3 OT

West Valley, UT - The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 in overtime at the E-Center on Friday night. Utah defenseman Andy Sertich scored the game-winning goal on the power play just 1:57 into overtime. Wranglers' goalie Kevin Nastiuk made 28 saves in the loss. Utah goalie Rob McVicar stopped 37 of 39 Las Vegas shots in the win. Wranglers forwards Joe Tallari and Chris Neiszner each scored in the loss.

Saturday, January 20th

Las Vegas 2 at Utah 3

West Valley, UT - The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 at the E-Center on Saturday night. The Grizzlies scored three goals in 50-seconds, including Travis Rycroft's goal just 16-seconds into the third period for the victory. Utah goalie Rob McVicar stopped 23 of 25 Wranglers' shots. Las Vegas goalie Kevin Nastiuk stopped 27 of 30 in the loss. Wranglers forward Kelly Czuy and defenseman Bryce Thoma each scored in the defeat.

Shuffling the Deck.....

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced on Thursday that defenseman Ryan Bonni has been recalled by the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the American Hockey League. Bonni joins goalie Mike McKenna, as well as forwards Aki Seitsonen and Ryan Donally in Omaha.

Winger Shawn Limpright has missed the last seven games with an injury and is questionable for this weekend's series. Defenseman Scott Schoneck has been activated off the injured reserve, but remains questionable. Schoneck has missed the last seven games. Winger Marco Peluso has missed six of the last seven games with an injury and remains questionable.

Wranglers Bits.....

Center Derek Edwardson needs six more assists to reach 100 for his career. Chris Neiszner played his 100th career game Friday night in Utah. Las Vegas. Coach Glen Gulutzan needs four wins to reach 150 with Las Vegas.

Upcoming Opponents.....

Idaho Steelheads - (20-16-2, 42 points, 2nd Place, West) -

Idaho is 11-8-0 on the road this season and 5-5-0 in their last ten games. Feisty winger Lance Galbraith is second in the ECHL in penalty minutes with 169 in 35 games. Galbraith also has 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points. Las Vegas swept a three-game series in Idaho in early December. Marty Flichel leads the Steelheads in scoring with 18 goals and 25 assists for 43 points in 36 games played.

Fresno Falcons - (23-12-2, 48 points, 1st Place Tie, Pacific) -

The Falcons own the season series with a 3-1-0 record against the Wranglers this season. Fresno is one point ahead of Las Vegas for first place in the Pacific Division. All-Star Luke Curtin leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 34 assists for 42 points in 30 games played. Goalie Ryan MacDonald is 4-2-1 with a 2.00 goals against average and .935 save percentage over his last seven starts.
