vs Bakersfield Condors

Game three of a three-game series, Series tied 1-1

LAST GAME: The Salmon Kings gave the crowd of 4,813 a heart-thumping battle on Saturday in the game two clash versus the Condors. Bakersfield scored first at 12:01 into the opening frame as Todd Griffith tallied his 18th goal of the season. Marc-Andre Bernier answered for Victoria three minutes later with his fourth goal in four games.

The Condors capitalized on a five minute powerplay to kick off the second period and gained a two-goal advantage. Brett Lutes and Kevin St. Jacques earned the powerplay markers. Defenseman Phil Cole posted his first goal with the Salmon Kings to soften the lead in the second, and Wes Goldie garnered his 21st goal of the season to tie the game in the opening minutes of the third period.

Kevin Asselin and Sean Venedam snatched back the two-goal lead for the Condors, and left just over five minutes remaining in regulation for the Salmon Kings to attempt a comeback.

Goldie ignited the crowd with a shorthanded tally and Milan Gajic grabbed a powerplay goal with 2:26 left for the tie once again. A scoreless overtime forced the third shootout showdown at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this season.

Goaltender Bryan Bridges turned away all four of Bakersfield's shooters, and Gajic and Goldie fired in goals as the first two shooters for Victoria.
